Job summary

Children's Wisconsin in Milwaukee is seeking a skilled Anesthesia Technician to support the operating room team. You will prepare, assemble and monitor supplies for anesthesia, ensuring readiness for neonatal to adult patients and following pediatric protocols.

The role involves setting up and calibrating anesthesia machines, monitoring devices, and assisting with intubation and IV insertion when requested.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or GED/HSED required.
• Completion of an accredited Anesthesia Technology program (A.A.S.) preferred or relevant experience.
• Ability to understand and identify medical equipment problems and apply technical knowledge to set-up and calibration of equipment.
• Analytical skills to identify problems, troubleshoot and find efficient solutions.
• Interpersonal skills to interact with a variety of professionals and staff.

Responsibilities

• Understand and satisfy the needs of neonatal to adult patients regarding growth and development.
• Prepares, assembles and monitors supplies for anesthesia prior to anesthetics and after use; cleans and restocks.
• Sets up, tests, calibrates, and performs dialing checks on anesthesia machines and monitors; notifies engineering of issues.
• Assists anesthesiologist with intubation and IV insertion when requested; maintains IV fluids per anesthesiologist discretion.
• Keeps physicians apprised of patient vitals; maintains accurate department records and supports maintenance of equipment.
