Job summary

Children’s Minnesota is seeking an Ambulatory Triage Nurse to triage telephone calls from patients and families, using the nursing process and approved protocols to guide care dispositions. The role supports clinicians and clinic staff to ensure the best outcomes.

An active Minnesota RN license and current BLS certification are required. One year of pediatric telephone triage experience is preferred, along with pediatric ambulatory nursing.

Qualifications

• Active Minnesota RN license required.
• Current BLS certification required.
• 1 year telephone triage experience preferred, pediatric focus preferred.
• 1 year ambulatory pediatric care experience preferred or 5 years pediatric nursing experience.
• Excellent computer skills and customer service orientation.

Responsibilities

• Triage calls from patients and families using nursing protocols.
• Advise on appropriate care disposition and home management guidance.
• Collaborate with clinicians and clinic staff to ensure patient-centered resolutions.
• Educate families on managing a sick child at home and maintain professionalism under pressure.
