Job summary

Cincinnati Children’s is seeking a Registered Nurse II, Ambulatory Float to provide high-quality nursing care across a broad range of pediatric ambulatory subspecialty clinics. The role supports diverse patient populations and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced ambulatory setting.

You will orient to multiple subspecialties, perform assessments, administer treatments, and support family education while maintaining safety and standards across locations.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Ohio.
• 2 years nursing experience.
• ADN or BSN; BSN preferred.
• Demonstrated clinical nursing experience.
• Strong assessment, critical-thinking, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing clinical environments and patient care needs.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
• Commitment to providing compassionate, family-centered pediatric care.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality nursing care across assigned ambulatory subspecialty clinics after orientation and competency validation.
• Develop and maintain clinical competencies across multiple ambulatory specialties and patient populations.
• Adapt to different clinical environments, patient populations, workflows, team structures, and operational needs.
• Collaborate with nurses, providers, clinical leaders, educators, medical assistants, and other interdisciplinary team members.
• Perform patient assessments, provide nursing interventions, administer medications and treatments, and support patient and family education in ambulatory settings.
• Utilize specialty-specific resources, workflows, and protocols during transitions between clinics.
• Maintain competencies and participate in ongoing education as clinical practices evolve.
• Communicate proactively regarding assignment readiness and clinical concerns.
