Job summary

MSS Solutions, LLC in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Project Engineer – Design and Development to lead design and development efforts for customer projects. You will develop equipment specifications, create drawings, and oversee submittals and commissioning activities to ensure project success.

The role requires a PE license, strong understanding of HVAC systems and building automation, proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD, and effective communication with owners, managers, and engineers.

Qualifications

• PE license required.
• Read and interpret blueprints and construction plans.
• HVAC systems knowledge and basic calculations.
• Strong communication and work ethic.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products.
• Background check and drug test required.
• Knowledge of Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Determines project needs, constraints and responsibilities to meet all the customer’s facilities requirements.
• Develop multiple relationships with new and existing customers to facilitate design and operational success.
• Survey and appraise building systems (including HVAC and Building Automation Systems) for value-adding project opportunities.
• Develop equipment specifications and construction drawings to ensure accuracy of quantity, size, configuration, voltage, options etc.
• Prepare solutions design, proposals and presentations.
• Aggressively manage project submittal review and approval to help maintain project scope and schedule.
• Support engineering evaluation process in project opportunities and provide mechanical engineering support.
• Support project engineering design needs and provide professional engineering review and stamping as required.
• Document work by maintaining files for each job.
• Manage development and implementation of a project-specific system commissioning program.
• Provide on-site engineering support to meet design intent, system requirements and milestones.
• Monitor, track and control outcomes to resolve issues and critical path deliverables.
• Assist in preparation of MEP assessments and detailed engineering reports.
• Coordinate project-specific engineering activities.
