Job summary

MSS Solutions, LLC in Charleston, SC is seeking an Assistant Project Engineer – Design and Development to join our team. The role supports project engineers in defining needs, sizing equipment, and developing construction drawings for customer facilities.

The position requires a BS degree in a related field or equivalent experience, with knowledge of HVAC systems, Revit/AutoCAD and BIM modeling. On-site work in an open, collaborative office environment is expected.

Qualifications

• BS degree in construction management or engineering or equivalent experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and construction plans and specs.
• Understanding of HVAC systems and controls and basic calculations.
• Strong communication and work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Engineer in determining project needs to meet customer facilities requirements.
• Survey and appraise building systems including HVAC and BAS.
• Develop equipment specs and drawings ensuring correct sizing and configurations.
• Run load calculations and produce system sizing reports.
• Prepare solutions design, scope, proposals and presentations.
• Manage submittal reviews to maintain scope and schedule.
• Review RFPs and document work with files.
• Support engineering evaluations and design needs.
• Provide on-site engineering support to meet design intent and milestones.
• Prepare MEP assessments and detailed engineering reports.
• Coordinate project-specific engineering tasks.
