Job description

Investment Operations & Portfolio Management Analyst
Company Description

A growing alternative investment firm focused on private equity and private markets, with a diversified portfolio across fund-of-funds, co-investments, and GP-led investments. The firm specializes in identifying differentiated private equity opportunities and providing liquidity solutions to investors.

Position Overview

This is a full-time opportunity based in New York City with a five-day-per-week in-office schedule. The firm operates in a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment where cross-functional communication is an important part of the culture.

The individual will report directly to a senior member of the investment team.

We are seeking an Investment Operations & Portfolio Management Analyst to support the investment team across secondary investment and co-investment activities.

This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career professional to gain broad exposure to private equity investing, transaction execution, portfolio management, valuation, and investment operations within a growing private markets platform.

Working closely with investment, finance, legal, and compliance professionals, the Analyst will be involved throughout the investment lifecycle—from transaction execution and onboarding through portfolio monitoring, valuation, reporting, and ongoing operational management.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced investment environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the execution of secondary LP-led, GP-led, and co-investment transactions from signing through closing.
  • Coordinate transaction documentation, closing deliverables, and settlement activities with advisors, legal counsel, counterparties, fund administrators, and custodians.
  • Assist with transfers of partnership interests, investor admissions, and pre- and post-closing operational activities.
  • Maintain transaction pipelines, execution checklists, and investment documentation.
  • Reconcile portfolio information received from fund managers and administrators.
  • Maintain portfolio data within internal investment management systems.
  • Respond to ad hoc requests from the investment team relating to portfolio holdings, underlying funds, and historical investment activity.
Valuation, Performance & Reporting
  • Support internal and third-party valuation processes for the investment portfolio.
  • Assist with standardized and ad hoc reporting and client-related requests.
Treasury & Hedging
  • Maintain records of treasury activity and hedging positions.
Accounting Support
  • Assist with accounting requests relating to investment transactions and portfolio holdings.
AML / KYC & Compliance
  • Coordinate AML/KYC documentation for underlying fund investments, counterparties, and transaction processes.
  • Monitor periodic KYC refresh requirements and maintain compliance records.
  • Liaise with fund managers, administrators, and compliance providers to ensure documentation remains complete and up to date.
Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • Approximately 1–3 years of experience in private equity, private markets, fund administration, investment operations, audit, or financial services.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with financial data.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams and meet deadlines.
Preferred Experience
  • Exposure to private equity fund investing, secondary transactions, or co-investments.
  • Understanding of private equity fund structures, partnership interests, capital calls, distributions, and NAV reporting.
Personal Attributes
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proactive, curious, and eager to learn.
  • Collaborative and relationship-oriented, with the confidence to work across investment, finance, legal, and external counterparties.
  • Commercially minded with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic and entrepreneurial investment environment.
