Job summary

IDEA Public Schools is hiring Physical Education teachers in Texas to deliver high-quality PE in non-traditional spaces such as outdoors and shared multi-purpose rooms.

You will integrate Interactive Health Technologies and SPARK/FitnessGram to drive fitness-based student achievement, track MVPA, and support college-ready outcomes for every student. Strong routines, safety, and campus collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year institution; focus in physical education or related field.
• Experience with large groups of students in classroom or activity settings.
• State certification preferred but not required.
• Active role with frequent setup, outdoors, and variable weather.

Responsibilities

• Implement IDEA curricula and assessments to meet ambitious expectations.
• Plan and teach multi-grade level lessons aligned to SPARK and PE scope.
• Set up, break down, and manage equipment; inventory and safety checklist.
• Use IHT heart-rate monitors to monitor student effort and progress.
• Conduct FitnessGram assessments and set class and individual goals.
