Job summary

Paycom is seeking a PDI Technician to assemble components for vehicles, reading blueprints and instructions to ensure correct fit and operation. You will verify specifications by measurement, troubleshoot discrepancies, and maintain a clean, safe workspace while supporting parts inventory and production flow.

The role requires experience in fabrication/assembly, knowledge of shop tools, forklift ability, and strong math and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Experience in fabrication and assembly is required.
• Knowledge of shop tools (grinders, saws, sanders) is needed.
• Basic machining skills are desirable.
• Ability to read and understand written instructions, specifications, blueprints or work orders.
• Ability to drive or be trained to drive forklift; valid M class license.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and have a clean driving record.
• Strong reading, writing and speaking communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assemble components according to instructions and blueprints.

SUMMARY:A PDI Technician installs components by assembling parts and subassemblies to vehicles.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: may include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Prepares work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.Positions parts and subassemblies by reading measurements or studying assembly instructions.Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies.Verifies specifications by measuring completed component.Resolves assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications; notifying supervisor to obtain additional resources.Keeps equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies.Conserves resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.Documents actions by completing production and quality forms.Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.QUALIFICATIONS: to perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactory.
