Job summary

Del Amo Motorsports in Paramount, CA is seeking an experienced PDI/Porter to assist with incoming units from receiving through customer walk-around, and to help stage vehicles for delivery. You will organize the PDI area and support the service warehouse.

The ideal candidate holds a high school diploma or equivalent, has familiarity with conventional machine shop equipment, and demonstrates strong verbal communication. This is a full-time, on-site role paying $18–$20 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and PD I (PDI) new units and prepare them for customer hand-off.
• Organize and control the PDI area and service warehouse storage.
• Assist technicians and service staff with receiving and delivery of units.
• Perform basic maintenance tasks (oil changes, tire changes) as needed.
• Keep the warehouse clean and organized and ensure proper staging of units.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Ability to assemble and PDI new units.
• Responsible for new units, starting from receiving to customer walk around as outlined in the PDI training procedures and guidelines.
• Responsible for organization and control of PDI area and service warehouse storage
• Capable of performing simple maintenance i.e.; oil changes, tire changes, etc
• Able to work under close supervision of PDI Manager and Service Manager.
• Abide by all dealership policies pertaining to the department.
• Follow company dress codes and be well groomed at all times.
• Any other specific duties deemed necessary for the overall success of the department and the dealership as a whole.
• Perform or support tooling design and fabrication, in-process and final inspection and production
• Learn to use ingenuity and mathematical calculations to make comp! icated set-ups.
• Assist all service personal i.e. advisors with receiving and pick up of customer units.
• Pickup and delivery of customer units as required.
• Assist Technicians and shop Forman with control of all units.
• Pre-stage tech's next unit
• Clean completed units
• Keep warehouse organized.

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Prefer interest or experience in Motorsports industry
• Prefer technical and/or mechanical aptitude.
• Ownership of tools.
• Familiarity of product lines sold in dealership.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Prior experience in the operation of Motor Vehicles conventional machine shop equipment in the creation of close-tolerance parts, either through work experience or as a hobby.
• Require strong, excellent verbal & solid communication skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure in fast-paced environment with multiple strict deadlines.
