Job description

The Opportunity

PDI Architect & Retail Technology Specialist at a growth-oriented energy company.

Become a senior technical resource for PDI platform architecture, back‑office operations, and Tier 2 retail technology support. Report to the Director, Retail IT and collaborate with existing PDI subject‑matter expert on platform decisions, integrations, and data strategy from day one.

Key Activities
  • Serve as senior IT resource for Retail Operations and Accounting, owning back‑office workflows, reporting, fuel reconciliation exceptions, inventory variances, and invoice verification.
  • Translate complex operational requirements from store and district leadership into PDI configuration, integration, or workflow solutions.
  • Develop and maintain SOPs and technical documentation for back‑office procedures and system workflows.
  • Lead PDI enterprise configuration and platform decisions in partnership with the existing PDI subject‑matter expert, covering pricebook management, inventory, loyalty integration, and fuel reconciliation.
  • Design and maintain PDI InSights / MarketLink reporting solutions; drive module implementations, upgrades, and third‑party integration architecture.
  • Own PDI RSM handheld configurations, SOX compliance reporting, and direct vendor escalations for core platform defects.
  • Provide Tier 2 remote support for Gilbarco Passport POS, FP6 dispensers, Engage media, InSite360, Scale Computing Edge, back‑office PCs, SupplyIT, and store network equipment.
  • Coordinate with field teams and vendors to resolve store‑impacting issues; manage tickets in ManageEngine ServiceDesk.
  • Participate in after‑hours on‑call rotation (approximately 1 week on, 5 weeks off).
Integration and Data
  • Architect and maintain SQL‑based data flows, batch processes, and system integrations connecting PDI to other enterprise platforms.
  • Lead EDI, electronic invoice verification, and third‑party inventory audit integration design and support.

Note: This description is intended to give you a general overview of the position. Additional responsibilities and opportunities may be identified based on current business needs.

Qualifications
  • Legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without a visa transfer or sponsorship.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Minimum 8 years of hands‑on PDI Enterprise experience in a convenience retail or petroleum wholesale environment, with demonstrated depth across multiple modules preferred.
  • Expert‑level knowledge of Gilbarco Passport POS and strong familiarity with FP6 dispensers, InSite360, and Gilbarco Engage media.
  • Proven track record as a senior technical partner to retail operations and accounting leadership, not just a support resource.
  • Advanced SQL skills and deep working knowledge of fuel reconciliation, pricebook architecture, inventory management, and card processing workflows.
  • Ability to lead vendor relationships, own escalations, and communicate platform strategy to executive and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Availability to participate in a structured after‑hours on‑call rotation.
  • Preferred: experience with PDI InSights / MarketLink report design and PDI RSM handheld administration.
  • Preferred: experience with Veeder‑Root ATG systems and DTN fuel pricing platforms.
  • Preferred: experience with Scale Computing Edge or similar hyperconverged edge infrastructure.
  • Preferred: experience with scan data programs (Altria, RJR, ITG) and tobacco brand‑funded promotion workflows.
  • Preferred: experience with ManageEngine ServiceDesk or equivalent ITSM platform in a retail IT environment.
  • Preferred: experience with networking fundamentals: managed switches, VPN, and firewall basics in a multi‑site retail context.
  • Preferred: DVR/NVR or IP camera platform experience; SOX compliance reporting; multi‑brand, multi‑state retail IT background.
