Job summary

PDI Technologies is seeking a software engineer to join an agile team supporting and maintaining our market-leading enterprise software solutions. You will identify software issues, optimize performance, and work closely with product managers, engineering leaders, and stakeholders.

You should be proficient in .NET/C#, SQL, and familiar with Visual Studio IDE; hybrid environment with quarterly after-hours support.

Qualifications

  • 3-6 years’ experience designing and developing software in a product environment.
  • Proficiency in .NET/C# and SQL required; SQL performance tuning preferred.
  • Familiarity with SDLC and Agile methodologies; strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Actively support and develop software solutions for PDI products
  • Troubleshoot and resolve software issues with urgency and thorough docs
  • Perform engineering tests to find defects; debug production issues
  • Collaborate with Product Management on feasibility and effort estimates
  • Provide case status and risk assessments to ensure proper escalation
  • Apply Agile practices to analyze and select technical solutions
  • Clarify and estimate feature work with Product Owner
  • Week of after-hours support availability every 3-4 months

Role Overview

You will play a key role in supporting and maintaining our market-leading software products as we strive for continuous improvement. You will be working as a key part of an agile team to identify software issues and optimize the performance of PDI's enterprise software solutions while working closely with product managers, product owners, engineering leaders, your team and other stakeholders.

With the variety of environments, platforms, technologies & languages, you must be comfortable working within databases, C# code, web services and hybrid cloud environments.

Responsibilities
  • Actively support and develop software solutions for PDI products
  • Troubleshoot and resolve software issues with due urgency and maintain thorough documentation of all software solutions
  • Perform engineering level tests to find defects; troubleshoot and debug production issues
  • Partner with Product Management to consult on solution feasibility and high-level effort estimation
  • Prepare and provide case status and risk assessments to their manager with appropriate levels of detail to ensure customer issues are properly escalated and prioritized
  • Use a disciplined approach in an Agile environment to assist in analysis and determination of preferred solutions to technical challenges
  • Work with Product Owner to clarify and estimate feature work
  • A week of after-hours support availability every 3-4 months
Qualifications
  • 3-6 years’ experience designing and developing new or maintaining existing software applications in a software product development environment
  • Proficiency required in one or more of the following: .Net and C#, SQL
  • Proficiency in SQL performance troubleshooting and tuning is preferred
  • Familiarity with the Microsoft Visual Studio IDE and the use of Azure DevOps or Jira
  • Practical experience with SDLC and Agile methodologies
  • Highly motivated self-starter with a desire to help others and take action
  • Requires strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into non-technical terms
  • Ability to independently work as a contributing member in a high-paced and focused team
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks with competing deadlines
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to socialize ideas and influence decisions without direct authority
  • Collaborative in nature with a strong desire to dig in and learn independently and as well as through asking questions
  • Considers ‘best-practice’ standards, as well as departmental policies and procedures
  • Computer science fundamentals: OOP, design patterns, data structures & algorithms
