Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health’s Monmouth Medical Center - Southern Campus is seeking a PD RN in the Operating Room for day shifts. The RN will scrub and circulate per diem in all OR specialties, collaborating with surgeons and staff to deliver safe, efficient patient care.

Candidates must hold an active NJ RN license, BLS, and have OR experience. A BSN is preferred, and familiarity with EPIC EMR is advantageous to document care and coordinate throughout the perioperative process.

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey RN license in good standing.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred.
• Experience with EPIC EMR system.

Responsibilities

• Scrub and circulate in all OR specialties.
• Provide safe, evidence-based medications and hands-on care.

As a Registered Nurse (RN), a typical day may include:

• Conducting comprehensive patient assessments and recognize subtle clinical changes, using your judgment to intervene early and advocate for your patients
• Providing safe, evidence-based medications, treatments, and hands on care grounded in strong clinical judgment
• Serving as a clinical partner to physicians and advanced providers, offering insight that supports timely, well-coordinated care decisions
• Providing clear, compassionate education to patients and families so they feel informed, supported, and prepared for the next phase of care
• Ensuring accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record to promote continuity and patient safety

To be considered for this RN opportunity, you must hold an active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing and a current American Heart Association BLS certification & at least one year current OR experience. A Bachelor's degree in Nursing is strongly preferred, as is comfort with electronic medical record systems (EMR) like EPIC. This position offers a per diem schedule allowing you to build strong patient relationships while maintaining balance.
