Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking an Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) at Jersey City Medical Center. The role involves perioperative patient assessments, safe medication administration, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient care.

The position is part-time with day shifts, requiring a NJ RN license and BLS certification. CNOR preferred, BSN or actively pursuing a BSN is expected.

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
• CNOR certification preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing required or actively enrolled in a BSN program.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and recognize subtle clinical changes.
• Provide safe, evidence-based medications and hands-on care.
• Serve as a clinical partner to physicians and advanced providers.
• Educate patients and families so they are informed and prepared.
• Ensure accurate documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Contribute to interdisciplinary rounds and team communication.
• Support long-term career progression through continuing education.

• the OR Nursing team works cooperatively with the multidisciplinary care team to maintain standards for professional nursing practice in the perioperative setting and participates in shared clinical decision-making, inspirational leadership, supportive colleagues, and much more,

To be considered for this RN opportunity, you must hold an active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing and a current American Heart Association BLS certification and CNOR certification preferred. A bachelor’s degree in nursing is required or actively enrolled in a BSN program with an expected completion date. Two-Three years of experience as an Operating Room RN experience. Comfortable with electronic medical record systems (EMR) like EPIC. Part-time Monday – Friday 7a-3p. Must be able to work every other weekend Rotation and on-call required. Allowing you to build strong patient relationships while maintaining balance.
