Job summary

UCI Health is seeking a Nuclear Medicine technologist to perform in vivo and in vitro procedures, ensuring high-quality patient care and timely exam throughput. You will operate gamma cameras and related equipment, while maintaining strict adherence to ALARA and safety standards.

Reporting to the Nuclear Medicine Supervisor, you will join a renowned academic health system in Orange County, contributing to patient care, education, and research within UCI Health’s Nuclear Medicine program.

Qualifications

  • Must have CNMT license in California.
  • Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine program.
  • Current NMTCB and/or AART licensure required.
  • Current BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform the full range of in vivo and in vitro Nuclear Medicine procedures.
  • Provide quality patient care and ensure timely throughput of exams.
  • Operate and perform quality control on stationary and portable scintillation equipment.

Your Role on the Team
Position Summary

Reporting to the Nuclear Medicine Supervisor, incumbent is responsible for the performance of the full range of in vivo and in vitro Nuclear Medicine procedures utilizing radiopharmaceuticals and related chemical substances. Responsible for the provision of quality patient care, including the timely throughput of patients and the performance of their exams. Operates and performs quality control of stationary and portable scintillation equipment including, gamma cameras, Geiger-Mueller counters, well counters, dose calibration devices and ancillary equipment. Knowledge of State regulatory radiation safety practices and the principles of ALARA.

Required Qualifications
What It Takes to be Successful
  • Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
  • Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
  • Must be able to provide on-call/call-back service as needed
  • Minimum one year, full-time experience working as a CNMT
  • Knowledge of State regulatory radiation safety practices and the principles of ALARA
  • Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine program
  • Current and active State of California CNMT License
  • Current and active NMTCB and/or AART (N) licensure for Nuclear Medicine
  • Current BLS certification
  • Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum 1 year, full time experience performing Nuclear Medicine procedures.
  • Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
