Job summary

Haywood Regional Medical Center, part of Lifepoint Health, invites you to join as a Patient Care Assistant in Clyde, NC. This role is part-time/PRN with duties delegated by RNs to deliver essential care and monitoring in a Progressive Care/Telemetry setting.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED; BLS within 30 days; NC CNAI enrollment within 6 months; CNA or EMT license preferred. Comprehensive benefits, tuition assistance and wellness programs are included.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 30 days of hire.
• Registered in NC as a CNAI within 6 months of completing training.
• License: CNA or EMT preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic patient care as delegated and supervised by an RN, including monitoring vital signs and intake/output recording.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living (bathing, grooming, eating, toileting, ambulation).
• Observes and promptly reports abnormal physical, mental, or emotional findings to nursing staff.
• Keeps patient rooms and common areas clean, safe, and appropriately stocked.
• Manages the tech desk; supports nursing/physician staff and department throughput.
• Documents care and activities per unit standards.
• Participates in performance improvement and required education; performs other duties as assigned.
