Job summary

First Choice Nurses is actively seeking experienced PCU Registered Nurses for per diem hospital opportunities throughout the Hampton Roads area. You can pick up an occasional shift or build a fuller schedule, with day and night shifts available and the freedom to choose when you work.

Competitive per diem pay in the range of $56.25 to $58.00 per hour, with daily or weekly pay options. Requirements include a Virginia RN license, minimum 2 years PCU experience within the past 4 years, BLS, ACLS,

Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN License.
• Minimum 2 years of recent PCU nursing experience within the past 4 years.
• Current BLS - American Heart Association (AHA).
• Current ACLS - American Heart Association (AHA).
• Current QuantiFERON-TB Gold test within the past 12 months.
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care in an acute care hospital setting.
• Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions and responses to treatment.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments according to physician orders.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and other specialized equipment required for PCU patients.
• Recognize changes in patient condition and respond appropriately.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records.
• Follow hospital policies, infection-control standards, and patient-safety guidelines.
• Provide patient and family education.
• Adapt professionally to different hospital environments and unit needs.
