Job summary

First Choice Nurses of Eastern VA is seeking experienced PCU Registered Nurses for per diem hospital opportunities in the Hampton Roads area. You can pick up occasional shifts or build a fuller schedule with day or night options.

Per diem roles offer flexible scheduling, competitive pay, and daily/weekly payment options across leading acute care hospitals in the region. Applicants must have an active VA RN license and PCU experience.

Qualifications

• Virginia RN license active and current.
• Minimum 2 years PCU nursing within past 4 years.
• Current BLS certification.
• Current ACLS certification.
• QuantiFERON-TB Gold test within past 12 months.
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption.
• Additional credentials may be required by the hospital.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care in an acute care hospital setting.
• Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions and responses to treatment.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments per orders.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and PCU equipment.
• Recognize changes in patient condition and respond appropriately.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams.
• Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records.
• Follow infection-control standards and patient-safety guidelines.
• Provide patient and family education.
• Adapt to different hospital environments and unit needs.
