Job summary

First Choice Nurses is hiring experienced PCU Registered Nurses for per diem hospital shifts across Hampton Roads, Virginia. You will have the freedom to choose shifts that fit your life, including 7a-7p and 7p-7a options, with competitive per diem pay.

Responsibilities include assessing patients, monitoring rhythms, administering treatments, and collaborating with care teams in acute-care settings. Virginia RN license plus 2 years PCU experience and BLS/ACLS are required.

Qualifications

• Virginia RN License (minimum 2 years of recent PCU nursing experience within the past 4 years).
• Current AHA BLS required.
• Current AHA ACLS required.
• Current QuantiFERON-TB Gold test within the past 12 months.
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption.

Responsibilities

• Assessing, monitoring, and documenting patient conditions.
• Monitoring cardiac rhythms and changes in patient status.
• Administering medications, IV therapies, and ordered treatments.
• Collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams.
• Maintaining accurate and timely electronic medical records.
• Following facility infection-control and patient-safety standards.
• Educating patients and families regarding care and discharge plans.
• Adapting professionally to different hospital units and environments.
