Job summary

First Choice Nurses is hiring experienced PCU Registered Nurses for per diem hospital shifts across Hampton Roads, Virginia. You can pick shifts that fit your life, with options for daily and weekly pay and a flexible schedule.

Shifts are 7a-7p and 7p-7a; must have Virginia RN license, 2+ years PCU experience, BLS/ACLS, and up-to-date TB testing. Per diem opportunities at local facilities offer hospital-based staffing with an easy mobile scheduling system.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN License required.
• Minimum 2 years of recent PCU nursing experience within the past 4 years.
• Current AHA BLS certification.
• Current AHA ACLS certification.
• QuantiFERON-TB Gold test within the past 12 months.
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption.

Responsibilities

• Assessing, monitoring, and documenting patient conditions.
• Monitoring cardiac rhythms and changes in patient status.
• Administering medications, IV therapies, and ordered treatments.
• Collaborating with physicians and care teams.
• Maintaining accurate electronic medical records.
• Following infection-control and patient-safety standards.
• Educating patients and families regarding care and discharge plans.
• Adapting to different hospital units and environments.
