Job summary

Bayhealth Medical Center is seeking a Nursing Assistant I for the PCU night shift at the Kent Campus in Dover. The position delivers basic nursing care under the supervision of a licensed nurse, assisting with ADLs, vital signs, and monitoring patients on a 32-bed telemetry unit.

The role emphasizes teamwork, safety, and compassionate care as part of Bayhealth's commitment to patient-centered service and professional growth through orientation and residency programs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; CNA/MA/PCT training or clinical lab sim course accepted.
• Active or recent CNA certification in DE or another state is acceptable.
• 1+ year direct patient care experience preferred but not required if training is completed.

Responsibilities

• Follow plan of care and document patient care per policies.
• Provide age-appropriate care to adults and geriatric patients.
• Maintain safe, comfortable environment and respond to patient needs.
• Communicate patient information to nurse promptly.
• Answer call lights and assist with ADLs and mobility as needed.
• Assist with diagnostic/therapeutic exams and NPO requirements.
• Perform sitter duties for safety as assigned.
• Support other nursing and ancillary staff as required.
• Perform any other duties within scope of responsibilities.
