Methodist McKinney Hospital in Texas is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to assist with patient care in the Inpatient Unit. The PCT performs delegated tasks, monitors vital signs, assists with mobility, and supports nursing staff as needed.

The role may include basic receptionist and clerical duties to help the nursing unit run smoothly. Requires current CNA or MA certification and 2+ years patient care experience preferred.

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) assists with patient care throughout the Inpatient Unit. The PCT is responsible for completion of delegated tasks within the scope of the PCT role; such as obtaining vital signs, the safe transport of patients and appropriate documentation of services provided. The PCT provides the services of an observer for any patient on a patient care unit who has been assessed to require constant observation to maximize their safety. The PCT may perform general receptionist and clerical duties to facilitate efficient functioning of the nursing unit.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant certification required.
• Minimum of two years patient care experience preferred.

OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE

Category I exposure to bloodborne pathogens, frequent exposure to chemical hazards and may encounter radiation hazards.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
