Job summary

Community Health Systems in Birmingham, AL seeks a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for part-time day shifts at Grandview Endoscopy Surgery Center. The PCT provides high-quality, patient-centered care under RN/LPN supervision, assists with activities of daily living, maintains a safe and organized care environment and supports effective team communication.

Qualifications include 0-2 years in acute care or nursing program, BCLS within 90 days, CNA preferred or enrolled in nursing program.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years of experience in an acute care setting or currently enrolled in a nursing program preferred.
• Basic knowledge of patient care practices and equipment.
• Strong organizational and communication skills; ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to patient confidentiality and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff with basic patient care and maintain a clean, safe environment.
• Record vital signs and report to RN/LPN/LVN.
• Support patients with meals, hygiene, mobility and comfort needs.
• Assist with positioning, ambulation and mobility aids.
• Collect urine/stool samples and monitor glucose levels as directed.
• Communicate patient information effectively to the care team.
• Adhere to infection control and PPE protocols; participate in safety initiatives.
• Maintain regular attendance and comply with policies.
