Job summary

Grandview Medical Center - Birmingham, AL is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to provide patient-centered care under RN/LPN supervision. You will assist with activities of daily living, monitor vital signs, and help maintain a safe, organized care environment in an acute setting.

Qualifications include 0-2 years in acute care or nursing program, BCLS within 90 days, and CNA/CPCT preferred. This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship and requires work authorization in the U.S.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience in acute care setting or currently enrolled in a Nursing program preferred
• BCLS - Basic Life Support within 90 days of hire required
• CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant or CPCT - Certified Patient Care Technician preferred

Responsibilities

• Assists nursing staff in delivering care and maintains a clean, safe, and organized environment
• Collects and records vital signs, height, weight, O2 saturation, intake/output and calorie counts, and reports to RN/LPN/LVN
• Supports patients with meals, bathing, grooming and mobility assistance
• Assists with positioning, ambulation, and use of mobility aids
• Collects samples and performs blood glucose monitoring, documenting results
• Communicates patient information to the care team and adheres to safety protocols
• Maintains infection control practices and uses PPE correctly
• Performs other duties as assigned and maintains reliable attendance
