Job summary

Grandview Medical Center in Birmingham, AL seeks a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support RN/LPN staff with daily patient care tasks and data collection. You will assist with activities of daily living, maintain a safe environment, and ensure effective communication within the team.

The role includes measuring vital signs, supporting mobility and personal care, and adhering to infection control practices. CNA/CPCT preferred; BCLS within 90 days of hire and Nursing program enrollment are valued.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience in an acute care setting or currently enrolled in a nursing program preferred.
• BCLS certification within 90 days of hire required.
• CNA or CPCT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists nursing staff in delivering care and maintains a clean, safe environment.
• Records vital signs and data, reporting findings to the RN/LPN/LVN.
• Supports meals, personal care, mobility, and use of walkers/wheelchairs.
• Collects urine/stool samples and performs finger-stick blood glucose monitoring.
• Communicates patient information to the care team and adheres to PPE protocols.
