Job Summary

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) serves as caregiver to the patient during the scheduled work period. The PCT provides patient-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Responsibilities include recording vital signs, assessing physical condition, administering basic healthcare, assisting with daily activities, and maintaining a clean environment. The role also involves clerical work related to scheduling and documentation, and providing one-on-one patient care when necessary.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred, not required.
• Knowledge of healthcare, anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and equipment preferred.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) preferred.
• If not a CNA and working in North Dakota, must be on the Nurse Aide Registry within four months of employment.
