Job summary

MUSC Health is seeking a Patient Care Tech II to support a decentralized patient-centered approach under direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. The role emphasizes multi-skilled tasks to assist in achieving desired patient outcomes.

The PCT II role requires a high school diploma or GED, with preferred CNA/EMT/Paramedic certification or enrollment in a healthcare program. BLS is required within 2 weeks of hire and maintained thereafter.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent (GED) required. One year of patient care work experience in a health care facility, Certified Nursing Assistant, EMT or Paramedic certification, Bachelor’s Degree or enrollment in a healthcare related program with successful completion of a Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, or Nursing Fundamentals course at an accredited institution or equivalent training preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 2 weeks of hire and maintained thereafter.

Responsibilities

• Under direct supervision of an RN, performs multi-skilled activities to support patient-centered care.
• Reports to Nurse Manager and contributes to desired patient outcomes.
• Participates in rotating 12-hour shifts including weekends and holidays.
