Job summary

MUSC Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support a decentralized, patient-centered approach under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. The PCT performs multi-skilled activities to assist with delivering high-quality care and achieving desired outcomes.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, with preference for CNA/EMT/Paramedic certification or enrollment in a healthcare program, and current BLS.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year of patient care work experience in a health care facility preferred.
• Certified Nursing Assistant, EMT or Paramedic certification or enrollment in a healthcare program with successful completion of a Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, or Nursing Fundamentals course preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide multi-skilled patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Support a decentralized, patient-centered approach to care and help achieve desired outcomes.
• Assist with basic patient care tasks and prepare patients for procedures as directed.
