Job summary

Jobot is representing a Davenport, IA-based aluminum manufacturer seeking a PCS/Software Engineer to design and enhance process control systems that directly impact production, quality, and operational performance. The role combines software, hardware, databases, and industrial automation to support plant operations.

The candidate will maintain and develop process-control software, perform upgrades, and improve HMI/SCADA applications while solving quality-related issues.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in CS, EE, CE or Info Systems required.
• 1+ year of programming experience or equivalent project work.
• Experience with C#, C++, VBA or SQL preferred.
• Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and develop process control systems, including hardware and software.
• Perform system upgrades, patches, and security updates.
• Modify and improve HMI and SCADA applications.

Job Details

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and develop process control systems, including both hardware and software
• Perform system upgrades, patches, and security updates
• Modify and improve HMI and SCADA applications
• Troubleshoot and resolve process control and quality-related issues
• Develop software tools to support diagnostics, reporting, and operational improvements
• Support manufacturing systems that drive production, quality, and safety

What They\\'re Looking For:

• Associate\'s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field
• At least 1 year of programming experience or equivalent project work
• Experience with one or more of the following: C#, C++, VBA, SQL
• Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship

Preferred Background:

• Bachelor\'s degree in a related technical field
• 3+ years of programming experience
• Experience with databases such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL, SQLite, or MS Access
• Exposure to manufacturing automation technologies including PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems
• Working knowledge of Windows, Linux, and Unix operating systems
• Manufacturing industry experience
• Project management experience is a plus
