Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Controls Engineer in Missouri to design and develop control systems, implement HMI/PLC/robotic logic, and improve production efficiency and product quality.

You will test, maintain, and modify existing systems, update schematics and instructions, and collaborate with design, operations, and purchasing teams to drive Lean initiatives and Industry 4.0 connectivity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 1+ year in a Controls Engineering role supporting manufacturing.
• Expertise in Ladder Logic and Allen Bradley PLCs; GuardLogix preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop new control systems to improve production efficiency.
• Implement and modify HMI, PLC, and robotic logic.
• Test, maintain, and modify existing systems to optimize operations.
• Update electrical schematics and operating instructions documentation.
• Collaborate with design engineers, operations engineers, purchasers, and other internal staff.
• Apply Lean Manufacturing principles to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Perform maintenance and updates to maximize system reliability and efficiency.
• Explore advancements in IoT, Industry 4.0 and smart manufacturing for better automation and connectivity.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• A minimum of 1+ years of experience in a Controls Engineering role supporting manufacturing.
• Expertise in Ladder Logic and Allen Bradley PLCs; GuardLogix experience is preferred.
• Proficiency in robotic systems.
• Strong electrical and electronic system troubleshooting capabilities.
• Preferred proficiency with tools including PanelBuilder, RSView 32, FT View, VisionWare, MotionWare, RSLogix (5, 500, 5000), Studio 5000, Ignition, Fanuc RoboGuide, Cognex Vision Tools, Keyence Vision Tools, and AutoCAD is preferred.
• Experience with 480V electrical power is required.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
