Job summary

Ultimate Staffing Services is seeking a Process Engineer for PCBA (SMT & Assembly) in Milpitas, California. This is a full-time, on-site role focusing on developing and optimizing manufacturing processes for PCB assemblies, solving quality issues, and supporting NPI from prototype through production.

You will collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering to improve throughput, define process parameters, validate equipment, and maintain compliance with IPC-A-610.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent required.
• 5–7 years in manufacturing engineering, PCBA/SMT preferred.
• Strong PCB assembly and PCBA process development knowledge.
• Experience with SPC and data-driven decision making.
• Ability to collaborate cross-functional and lead projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and validate manufacturing processes for PCBA assembly (SMT & box build).
• Optimize production layouts for efficiency, throughput, and productivity.
• Establish process parameters, controls, and standard methodologies.
• Perform time studies and capacity analysis to support production planning.
• Support product launches from prototype through full-scale production (NPI).
• Coordinate pilot builds, process validation, and production readiness.
• Select, qualify, and validate SMT equipment; program production equipment.
• Analyze defects and drive corrective actions using 8D, RCA, and FMEA.
• Maintain SOPs, documentation, and IPC-A-610 compliance.
