Job summary

SpaceX in Redmond, WA is seeking a Hardware Development Engineer to own and scale PCBA manufacturing for Starlink. You will drive production processes, implement NPI with design engineers, and maintain work instructions and metrics.

Candidates should have a bachelor's in engineering and 1+ year of manufacturing/SMT experience; knowledge of IPC standards, SQL, Python, Six Sigma, and failure-analysis tools is a plus. SpaceX offers comprehensive benefits in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, software, industrial, electrical, or other engineering discipline.
• 1+ years of professional experience in manufacturing process, SMT, accelerated testing, design for reliability, or PCB design and layout.
• Experience with IPC manufacturing standards and statistical techniques.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage PCBA processes and PCBA products for in-house production.
• Drive processes for volume production of PCBA including MES, nonconforming product management, configuration management, traceability, and process control.
• Manage new product introduction of PCBA assemblies with design engineers and process specialists.
• Track schedule, WIP levels, and defect rates of owned products.
• Identify trends and opportunities for output optimization, quality improvements, and cost reduction.
