Job summary
US Tech Solutions is seeking a PCBA Electrical Engineer specializing in circuit analysis, reverse engineering, and hardware troubleshooting for on-site work in Milpitas, CA. The role emphasizes engineering analysis, validating repairs, and creating BOMs and BKMs for suppliers and contract manufacturers.
The ideal candidate has extensive hands-on experience with mixed-signal PCBA debugging, board bring-up, and documentation, with travel to international sites as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related field.
- 10+ years of PCBA / hardware experience.
- Strong mixed-signal circuit analysis skills.
- Hands-on PCBA reverse engineering and troubleshooting experience.
- Ability to work with limited or no schematics/documentation.
- Experience with board bring-up, failure analysis, and system/board interfaces.
- Strong documentation skills including BOMs, block diagrams, troubleshooting procedures, and BKMs.
- Experience with oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, and similar diagnostic equipment.
Responsibilities
- Analyze mixed-signal PCBA circuits, interfaces, power rails, and board interactions.
- Reverse engineer existing boards where documentation is incomplete or unavailable.
- Diagnose defective boards, identify likely failure modes, and support bring-up and validation.
- Develop BOMs, block diagrams, troubleshooting flows, repair procedures, and BKMs.
- Validate repaired boards with internal engineering teams and supplier/contract-manufacturer activities.
- Identify component replacements or alternates where required.
- Work independently on complex technical issues with minimal guidance.
