Nottingham Spirk in Cleveland, OH, seeks an experienced PCB Prototyping Team Manager to lead in-house prototyping and oversee 3rd party builds from doc release to delivery. You will manage schedules, resources, costs, and status communication while coordinating with engineers, fabricators, and suppliers.

The role requires hands-on SMT and through-hole assembly, rework, inspection, and strong project-management skills with attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Ten or more years of PCB assembly or electronics manufacturing experience.
• Hands-on SMT and through-hole hand assembly, soldering, rework, and inspection.
• Experience coordinating with PCB fabricators and contract manufacturers.
• Direct experience with quality management processes
• Strong team and project management, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects.
• Ability to read schematics, drawings, bills of materials, and PCB manufacturing documentation.
• Knowledge of IPC workmanship standards and ESD controls.
• IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, or IPC-7711/7721 certification preferred.
• Experience in prototype or high-mix, low-volume manufacturing preferred.
• Inventory management software experience preferred

Responsabilités

• Directly manage in house PCB prototyping team.
• Manage 3rd party PCB builds from documentation release through final delivery.
• Develop schedules, assign resources, track costs, and communicate project status.
• Coordinate with engineers, customers, PCB fabricators, contract assemblers, and component suppliers.
• Prepare and review fabrication and assembly packages, including Gerber files, drawings, BOMs, and pick-and-place files.
• Obtain and evaluate supplier quotations based on cost, capability, quality, and lead time.
• Track outside fabrication and assembly work and resolve technical, material, quality, and schedule issues.
• Verify documentation, revisions, component selections, quantities, polarity, and assembly requirements.
• Perform surface-mount and through-hole assembly, fine-pitch soldering, rework, repair, and inspection.
• Operate soldering, hot-air rework, microscope, stencil printing, pick-and-place, and reflow equipment.
• Maintain build records, material traceability, ESD controls, equipment, and an organized work area.
• Inventory management
• Train and support assembly personnel and improve build and quality processes.
