Job summary

EVONA in San Francisco is seeking an experienced PCB Layout Team Lead to manage a team of PCB designers and component librarians, driving technical excellence and process improvements for high reliability spacecraft electronics.

You will stay hands-on with complex layouts, set design standards, and introduce automation to boost throughput, while partnering with manufacturing engineers and suppliers to meet stringent quality requirements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on PCB layout and design experience.
• 2+ years in team leadership or technical project leadership.
• Strong knowledge of PCB fabrication, component libraries, design rules, and DFM.
• Experience with scripting/automation tools.
• Familiarity with IPC standards.
• Experience with Altium or similar advanced PCB design software.

They're looking for an experienced PCB Layout Team Lead to manage a team of PCB designers and librarians, driving technical excellence, improving design processes and supporting the development of high-reliability spacecraft electronics.

The opportunity:

• Lead and develop a team of PCB layout engineers and component librarians, overseeing workloads, technical delivery and professional development.
• Remain hands-on with complex PCB layouts, working alongside electrical engineers to deliver manufacturable, reliable designs.
• Establish and improve PCB design standards, component libraries and design-for-manufacturing (DFM) processes.
• Introduce automation and scripting tools to streamline workflows and improve design efficiency.
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineers and external suppliers to ensure hardware meets demanding quality and reliability standards.
