Job summary

J&T Business Consulting in Seymour, CT is seeking a Process Development Engineer to design, optimize, and document manufacturing processes for PCB and electro‑mechanical assemblies. You will provide real‑time troubleshooting during production to minimize downtime and improve productivity.

Responsibilities include analyzing layouts, reviewing blueprints and diagrams for modifications, and designing fixtures to streamline assembly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering required (Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or related field).
• Strong mechanical foundation with automation and machine programming focus.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and specs.
• Proficient in math and physics calculations.
• Knowledge of electronic component identification.
• Must pass IPC-A-610 solder inspection training.
• Experience with Shop Floor Tracking Systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, optimize, and document manufacturing processes, SOPs, and work instructions.
• Provide real-time technical troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
• Analyze PCB layout data and panelization for design/process compliance.
• Review blueprints and technical diagrams for modifications and approval.
• Design or fabricate fixtures and tooling to streamline assembly.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with Quality on inspections and rework.
• Support maintenance with preventive maintenance plans.
• Participate in NPI and equipment validation reviews.
• Act as liaison between production, cross-functional staff, and leadership.
• Prepare and deliver technical reports and project updates.
