Job summary

XLR8 EMS in California is seeking a Conformal Coating Technician to apply protective coatings to PCBs and assemblies, ensuring moisture, dust, and chemical resistance while meeting IPC standards.

You will inspect coated boards, mask components, perform touch-ups, operate coating equipment, document production data, and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred.
• Experience in electronics manufacturing or coating applications is a plus.
• Knowledge of IPC standards (e.g., IPC-CC-830) is desirable.
• Ability to read and interpret technical instructions and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Apply conformal coating using spray, brush, dip, or automated processes.
• Inspect coated boards for coverage, thickness, and defects.
• Mask and demask components as required before and after coating.
• Perform touch-ups and rework on coated assemblies.
• Operate and maintain coating equipment and curing ovens.
• Follow work instructions, technical drawings, and quality standards.
• Record production data and maintain documentation.
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
• Collaborate with quality and engineering teams to resolve defects.
