Job summary

Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. is seeking a PCB Layout CAD specialist to join the specialized CAD team in San Diego.

You will create, manage, and maintain library databases across Xpedition and Cadence Allegro for electronic components used to design and document PCBs, ensuring compliance with manufacturing standards and Qualcomm guidelines. You will collaborate with electrical and mechanical design teams, transform schematics and specifications into robust PCB layouts, and document

Qualifications

• Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical constraint drawings.
• Basic understanding of Design for Manufacture (DFM) requirements and electrical specifications.
• Ability to read specifications and learn quickly on the job.

Responsibilities

• Learn and develop expertise with the CAD software tools utilized at Qualcomm: Siemens/Mentor Graphics Xpedition
• Cadence Allegro
• Downstream Technologies Blueprint - To create and release documentation for PWB Fabrication and Assembly drawings.
• Effectively communicate with project peers and engineering personnel via e-mail, Teams meetings, including regular status reports and illustrative presentation slides.
• Understand project goals and individual contribution toward those goals.
• Understand the requirements of each component and read electronic specification s to help create library data bases accurately.
• Maintain technical coordination with Engineering and leads. Resolve design issues quickly and ensure all processes are followed.
