Job summary

Sierra Circuits, a Sunnyvale-based PCB manufacturer, is seeking a Mechanical Assembler in San Jose, CA. This full-time role focuses on PCB assembly using magnification and soldering per IPC-A-610 standards.

You will read drawings, follow ISO procedures, and ensure quality while maintaining a clean, safe workspace. Regular interviews are being held; comprehensive benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma preferred.
• 3-5 years experience in the printed circuit board assembly industry.
• Extensive knowledge of mechanical, thru-hole, surface mount, electronic component identification and performing reworks on printed circuits boards a must.
• Prior experience with ISO 9001/9002 or QS9000 preferred.
• Ability to read, understand, and interpret documentation related to PCB Assembly, quality control specifications, IPC 610 certification, drawings and engineering specifications.
• Ability to use quality related measuring equipment and all hand tools required for PCB Assembly.
• Ability to follow procedures and maintain quality of products at all time.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds and stand/walk throughout the day.
• Ability to perform at the highest level in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Use magnification aids and stereo-microscope to solder components and ECO wires to PCBs, adhering to IPC-A-610 standards.
• Employ hand tools to manually assemble components to PCBs.
• Follow customer BOM and assembly notes to meet specifications.
• Read, understand, and comply with ISO procedures/work instructions and IPC specifications.
• Accurately complete forms/documents for reporting inspection results.
• Interact with managers, co-workers, and vendors professionally.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
