Job summary

Benchmark in Rochester, MN is seeking an assembler to assemble and/or modify electronic components, subassemblies and systems by following specific instructions. You will assist in working with other less experienced assemblers.

The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and 1+ years of hardware or simple optics assembly experience. You will read and follow prints, use hand tools, and help maintain quality and safety in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read, write and perform basic math.
• Ability to use hand tools and associated devices to manufacture PCBs and other electronic assemblies.
• Ability to identify electronic components.
• Willingness to cross-train in other areas and participate in continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Reads and follows assembly prints, work instructions, drawings, procedures and specifications used in the manufacturing of PCBs.
• Identifies by sight workmanship and material defects and may suggest changes to work instructions to improve operations.
• Performs tasks with a high degree of care and attention to detail while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
• Assembles electronic components, assemblies, and modules from samples and process sheets.
• Maintains accurate material control within the work area.
• Performs inspection of own work in the immediate area.
• Mentors lesser skilled employees as needed.
• Assemble PCBs of intermediate complexity.
