Job summary

Altek Electronics, Inc. is seeking a Full Time Inspector (AOI) in Torrington, CT to inspect PCB parts and assemblies to IPC/J-STD workmanship standards and internal quality requirements.

Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED, J-Std or IPC-A-610 certification (or completion of a related program) and prior soldering experience. The role requires lifting up to 30 pounds and standing up to 8 hours daily.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or GED.
• J-Std or IPC-A-610 certification required, or successful completion of certification program as agreed.
• Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds and stand up to 8 hours.
• Ability to read and understand assembly documentation and inspection criteria.

Responsibilities

• Review AOI inspection for accurate detection of SMT paste, component placement and solder defects.
• Inspect populated PCBs with magnification aids and identify misplacements and solder defects to IPC-A-610 standards.
• Identify problems in the operation or with components and communicate to machine operator for correction.
• Participate in problem solving, process improvements and performance measurements.
• Follow company guidelines/procedures and safety/6S requirements.
• Conduct in-process and final inspections on PCBs and assemblies; ensure conformance to standards.
• Complete daily inspection reports denoting acceptance/rejection rates as defined by work travelers.
