Job summary

Nationwide Children's Hospital is seeking a Nursing Assistant to provide basic supportive care under RN supervision. This role offers a 0.6 FTE (24 hours/week) or 0.9 FTE (36 hours/week) schedule with night shifts 7:00pm–7:30am and every other weekend.

Starting pay is $19.10/hr with additional $2.30/hr night differential and $1.80/hr weekend differential, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Qualifications

  • Completion of fundamentals course from an approved nursing program, or equivalent certification or experience.
  • Active Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) in the State of Ohio, or equivalent education or experience, required.
  • Current CPR certification (BLS for healthcare provider), required.
  • One year of patient care experience in a hospital setting within the last three years, or equivalent education or certification, required.

Responsibilities

  • Collects, documents, and reports vital signs. May complete screening questions and documentation or minor specimen testing as assigned.
  • Promotes general patient safety. Holds and positions patients and assists with procedures. Prepares materials and supplies as delegated.
  • Remains compliant with HIPAA, maintains professionalism, and ensures confidentiality of patient information.
  • Ensures environmental standards are met and all unit and patient areas are stocked, cleaned, and maintained.
  • Performs clerical and administrative tasks as necessary.
  • Completes continuing education and participates in offered educational opportunities. May act as a preceptor and train other staff.

Experience:

One year of patient care experience in a hospital setting within the last three years, or equivalent education or certification, required.
