Job summary

Riverside Health System in Gloucester, VA is seeking a patient care assistant to support nursing teams, perform treatments under the direction of a Registered Nurse, and ensure accurate documentation in the EMR. Salary & Pay

$16.80 - $21.83/Hourly. Actual pay is determined based on job-related factors such as relevant experience, education, credentials, skills, internal equity, and business needs.

What you will do

• Demonstrates understanding and knowledge of the technology systems necessary for patient data collection into EMR.
• Demonstrates the ability to follow plan of care to include performing treatments and procedures competently/independently under direction of RN.
• This may include the following procedures dependent upon unit/facility competency requirements vital signs, ice application, compresses, EKGs, drawing blood, specimen collection, etc.
• Accurately completes all required clinical and quality documentation consistently per RHS standards and regulatory requirements.
• Demonstrates accountability for ensuring availability of resources (equipment, instruments, supplies) necessary to ensure positive patient outcomes.
• Maintains clean, safe and orderly work/patient environment by cleaning work stations/areas, equipment; stocking supplies; placing equipment in proper storage areas.
• Demonstrates the ability to be able to take direction from the charge nurse to help admit, discharge, or transfer patients in a timely and efficient manner.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED, (Preferred)
• Experience: 1 year Prior health care experience in hospital setting (Preferred)
• Licenses and Certifications: CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) Upon Hire (Required). ONE OF THE FOLLOWING is Required: Certified Nurse Aid (CNA) - Virginia Department of Health Professions (VDHP) In lieu of CNA certification EMT-B (Basic) from the Virginia Department of Health Professions or National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians Certified or Registered Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA), or Medical Assistant Program Graduate Currently enrolled in LPN or RN diploma or degree program with at least 80 hours completed
