Alpine Bank in Rifle, Colorado is seeking a PC Technician to perform systems administration and end-user support across hardware, software, and peripherals. The role covers ticket handling, inventory tracking, and on-site/off-site troubleshooting to keep the desktop environment running smoothly.

Qualified candidates will have a High School Diploma or GED, Colorado driver’s license, and basic OS/hardware knowledge. CompTIA A+ certification within 12 months is expected.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of PC hardware and software as it relates to Alpine Bank systems.
  • Basic networking troubleshooting knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Receives and addresses service requests from end users or ticketing system.
  • Maintains inventory of parts and tracks progress of service requests.
  • Performs desktop and workstation support, hardware/software installation and maintenance.
  • Provides first and second level technical support, including low level networking tasks.
  • Troubleshoots hardware and software problems and updates configurations as needed.
  • Works with Windows, VMware, and related applications.

The PC Technician performs a variety of computer systems administration and support tasks, including analyzing, constructing, documenting, testing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and supporting of PC hardware, operating systems, software applications, peripherals, and communications devices.

  • Receives and addresses service requests from individual end users or from the ticketing system.
  • Maintains inventory of parts or components, tracks progress of service requests and updates ticketing systems, and logs repairs and services performed.
  • Performs desktop and workstation support, PC hardware and software troubleshooting, hardware/software installation, remote and onsite maintenance.
  • First and second level technical support and may include low level networking and application administration functions.
  • Exercises judgement and decision making in the diagnosis and resolutions of computer hardware and software problems.
  • Be technically proficient in updating, configuring, and troubleshooting a diverse PC applications environment that includes suites from Microsoft, Jack Henry, and VMWare.
  • General knowledge of network, Voice over Internet (VOIP) telephone systems, server hardware and software.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is required as an essential function of this position.
Other Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Performs the full range of work assigned and other duties as assigned.
  • Specialize on Alpine Bank specific programs.
  • Help develop and implement performance enhancements to make the team more effective.
  • Assist with or work on special projects.

Job Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Ability:
  • Basic understanding of computer and server operating systems and troubleshooting.
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written.
  • Ability to keep calm in stressful situations.
  • Self-starter and be able to function effectively without continual supervision.
  • Technical knowledge of both hardware and software as it relates to Alpine Banks’ systems.
  • Basic understanding of networking and troubleshooting network related problems.
  • Ability to work cordially and professionally with end users.
  • Ability to explain complex and technical issues to employees in a way they understand.
Education or Formal Training:
  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) equivalent required.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid State of Colorado Driver’s License is required.
The successful candidate will need to obtain the following internal training within 12 months of being hired:
  • CompTIA A+ Certification.
Experience:
  • Previous help desk or front-line computer support is preferred.
Working Conditions

This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers.Travel to conferences, meetings and branch locations on a regular basis may be necessary.Additional requirements include semi-annual disaster recovery testing and occasional application updates on weekends or evenings.On-call after hours and weekend support when scheduled or required.

Physical Activities:

This is largely a sedentary role. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.Employee also may have to lift up to 25 lbs.
