Job summary

Breakthrough New York is seeking a Project Based Learning After School Instructor for the Spring 2027 term in New York, NY. You will deliver PBL curriculum to middle school students twice weekly and assist with program logistics under supervision.

The role requires a current college student or 18+ and a commitment to the January–April schedule, with on-site hours Mondays and Wednesdays 4:00–7:00 PM. Compensation is $20 per hour for seasonal work.

Qualifications

• Experience or demonstrated results in after-school settings.
• Ability to form relationships with middle school students and serve as a role model.
• Current college student or 18+ years old.

Responsibilities

• Deliver pre-written Project Based Learning curricula twice weekly.
• Support program logistics and fill in when needed.
• Communicate student needs to the Program Manager.
• Participate in weekly check-ins and evaluations.
• Attend trainings and complete observations as required.
