Job summary

Breakthrough New York seeks a High School Preparedness Coach for the Spring 2027 term. The role focuses on direct student engagement, delivering a defined curriculum twice weekly, within a seasonal, part-time framework at sites in Queens or Manhattan.

You will work with the Program Manager and instructors, providing onsite support Mondays and Wednesdays 4:00–7:00 PM, January through April, with additional trainings and regular check-ins. The position emphasizes mentorship and program development.

Qualifications

• Experience with mentoring or role modeling for middle school students.
• Able to build relationships and serve as a positive example.
• Able to commit to the entire Spring 2027 term (Jan 27–Apr 21).
• Proficient with Zoom and Google Drive.

Responsibilities

• Deliver pre-written High School Options curriculum twice weekly to middle school students.
• Assist with program logistics and fill in as needed.
• Learn and apply student management techniques and report needs to Program Manager.
• Participate in weekly check-ins for development and evaluations.
• Evaluate student output and support program goals.
• Attend trainings and observation sessions.
