Job summary

The City of New York's Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) seeks a Director of Payroll to oversee all payroll matters for the Agency. This role directs CityTime, manages bi-weekly and other payrolls, and partners with the Bureau of Organizational Development & Human Resources to ensure accurate pay and timely responses to staff queries.

An advanced degree and substantial professional experience in budget or financial administration, public administration, or related fields are

Qualifications

• Master's degree required in economics/finance/related field with related experience.
• Bachelor's degree with 4 years of professional budget/financial administration or related experience.
• Experience in personnel, payroll, or public administration contexts is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Directs payroll administration and CityTime system usage for the agency.
• Oversees timely processing of bi-weekly, weekly, and supplementary payrolls.
• Coordinates with OD&HR on payroll policies, data accuracy, and staff training.
• Represents payroll activities to higher-level supervisors and external groups.
