Job summary

SST Direct in Austin, TX is seeking a Payroll Specialist / Timekeeper to join our team. This full-time, on-site role manages timekeeping for 200-300 employees and oversees payroll processing.

The position offers a competitive salary ($55,000–$63,000 per year), standard Mon–Fri hours 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM, and a comprehensive benefits package. Experience in payroll systems and attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience in timekeeping, payroll, HR administration, or a similar field.
• Previous experience within the construction or staffing industry strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of payroll systems and handling high-volume employee data.
• Proficient in Excel, especially with formulas and pivot tables.

Responsibilities

• Review and verify clock-in and clock-out records for 200-300 employees on a daily basis to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Identify, investigate, and resolve any discrepancies or errors with employee timecards.
• Communicate directly with employees to clarify time entries, gather missing information, and facilitate timely corrections.
• Track daily contractor attendance and report headcount to supervisors multiple times a day.
• Analyze attendance trends and provide coaching to employees as needed/applicable.
