Yellowstone Landscape is seeking an experienced Payroll Technician to manage weekly payroll for 200+ employees in Sacramento. The role demands strong knowledge of California payroll law, time & attendance analysis, and high organizational standards.

Candidates should be proficient with UKG/ADP/Aspire and MS Office, and able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Five years of verifiable payroll processing experience.
• Strong knowledge of California state and federal wage & hour laws.
• Experience with time & attendance analysis and payroll documentation.

We are currently seeking an experienced Payroll Technician to join our team. This is not an entry-level position. Candidates must have a strong background in payroll, California employment law administration, time & attendance analysis, exceptional organizational skills, and a high level of professionalism. Candidates are required to accurately maintain, monitor, and process all payroll related documentation for weekly payroll processing for 200+ employees, which includes accuracy of timecards, administer & enter absences, review for missed meals, prepare and submit certified payroll documentation in accordance with project and regulatory requirements, request manual and termination checks, etc. Successful candidates will research and respond to payroll inquiries, maintain payroll records and reports, assist with new hire orientations when needed, be comfortable managing multiple tasks, and work well in a fast-paced environment.

Minimum Requirements

• Five (5) years of verifiable Payroll processing experience
• Intermediate to advanced experience with UKG, ADP, Aspire or another well-known software
• Strong understanding of Meal & Rest Breaks for California
• Strong understanding of California and Federal leave laws
• Strong understanding of State of California and Federal Wage & Hour Laws
• Strong in math and analytical skills
• Support both internal and external reporting
• Highly skilled in computer systems
• Proven ability to consistently produce accurate and high-quality work
• Strong ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Strong ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and unplanned tasks
• Strong work ethic, time-management skills, and a proactive approach
• Strong attention to detail with outstanding organization and prioritization skills
• Self-motivated and driven to meet goals and deadlines
• Demonstrate a strong sense of ownership and accountability

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Minimum typing speed of 50+ WPM

Desired Qualifications: Experience with Certified Payroll a plus

Self-motivated, professional etiquette and confidentiality a must Strong work ethic and time management

Bi-lingual in Spanish a plus

Compensation is dependent on experience. This is not an entry level position.
