Job summary

Southern Company is seeking a Systems Support Analyst to back centralized payroll functions for employees, vendors, and customers across the organization. You will manage system jobs for payroll calculations, load files, reconcile data, and produce reports to support balancing and distribution with partners.

The role requires 3–5 years in payroll/Oracle HCM, knowledge of PeopleSoft, and a solid grasp of labor laws. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in accounting, business, information systems or related field.
• 3–5 years work experience in payroll, technology, Oracle HCM, Payroll, Time and Labor strongly desired.
• 2–3 years Peoplesoft/Oracle HCM strongly desired.
• Understanding of Cloud computing strongly desired.
• Experience with applying Labor laws, including FLSA, desired.
• Experience analyzing complex scenarios and balancing multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Partner with other teams within Payroll, HR Service Center, and other organizations across the system in order to achieve time sensitive deadlines.
• Support the production process to ensure the accurate and timely processing of all payroll functions and team reports.
• Operate in compliance with federal, state, and company guidelines.
• Participate, as part of a team, in job rotation/rotating roles.
• Provide full process and system support.
• Utilize effective communications and networking to maintain a team environment.
• Perform other payroll related duties as assigned.
