Job summary

Beacon Hill Staffing Group is seeking a Payroll Systems & HRIS Consultant for a Portland-based, project-focused engagement. The role centers on Paychex, payroll process redesign, and broader systems improvements.

You will assess the current Paychex setup, map workflows, gather requirements, define timelines, and deliver a prioritized roadmap to improve efficiency and accuracy. This is a full-time, hybrid assignment in the Portland area.

Qualifications

5+ years of payroll systems and HRIS experience.
Paychex experience.
Experience redesigning payroll processes.
Strong understanding of end-to-end payroll workflows.
Systems assessment, configuration, implementation, or optimization experience.
Requirements gathering and process-mapping experience.
Ability to independently lead discovery and create an actionable roadmap.

Responsibilities

Assess the current Paychex setup and payroll process.
Define timecard deadlines, approval workflows, processing timelines, and downstream impacts.
Gather requirements from payroll, HR, finance, and system users.
Map current-state and future-state workflows; identify gaps and dependencies.
Coordinate with Paychex and vendors on configuration and process changes.
Document longer-term recommendations in a prioritized roadmap.
